Right I am rubbish

I have just realised how rubbish I am - thought I will just update my blog with my great weekend and found I haven't yet updated since Nate was born and he is 6 months old now! So I am going back now to sort that out...

Bramley Fete

So today was Bramley May Fete. John and I had promised we would take part in the procession, organised by my mum. John was a spectacular knight in shinng armor.along with my Dad, Phil and Tom and I was a medieval wench with Mum. I was quite pleased with myself as I managed to walk all the way up to the field, part of the time pushing the buggy, though Chris helped out for a bit.

When we got there we quickly changed and wandered in desperate search of a drink, a german sausage and something yummy to eat. Having stuffed our faces under the blue sky sat in the shade we loaded the monster into the sling and ambled on...

And what do we find? The motely crew:

Once we were feeling decidedly sunkissed and had drunk plenty of squash and eateb coke we headed home and Nathan had an al fresco meal

Things to be happy about...

Having a stroke is frankly depressing and it is easy to focus of how awkward everything is now, how everything takes twice as long as it used to and how little things like getting dressed are an exercise in patience, something I've never had a lot of. However, recently it has occured to me that i have a lot to me thankful for and it would do no harm to innumerate them for future cheering up needs....

1. I am lucky to be alive unlike this poor woman who had a stroke a week after me while being 26 weeks pregnant.

2. I am lucky that my stroke doesn't seem to have effected nathan, except that he maybe isn't as big as he would have been ( but that is probably partly down to me loosing so much weight while pregnant because I was so sick)

3. I am lucky that I have John. He can be an arse at times but he was great while is was in hospital, is fantastic with Nathan and not a complete fool...

4. I am lucky Nathan is a generally a very amiable baby so nappy changing etc is fairly easy one handed

5. I am lucky that I was very quickly back on my feet and, what is more, my arm is beginning to respond and I will hopefully be back at the piano eventually.

6. And look what a cutie my baby is...

First blood and first bath and first meeting with crispy

Yesterday Nate had an injection and had blood taken from his heels. I was just getting over the sobbing (mine not nates) when the photographer showed up to see if I wanted his picture taken. She took a lovely shot and we will get them in the post later. Today the midwife came to demonstrate how to bathe Nate. Mum and Dad were there to take photos.

Nate was very good and actaly seemed to quite like it.

Earlier Nate hadaan explosive poo while John was changing his nappy - it shot ot and hit the end of the cot - had he been holding Nates ankles a little higher it would have gone over the edge and onto the floor. I laughed so hard I cried. Cris saw Nate for the first time on the cam today - everytime we spoke up to then Nate was asleep in his cot - I took some piccies earlier in the day with the webcam just in case. I was not at my most glamerous so here is a collage of my cutie with a monster holding him.
